car dies and won't start, sometimes

well, last night while driving (no boost)it just died. i tried to start it back up it would just crank i couldn't hear the fuel pump so i start checking fuses but none that i found were blown. about 10 min later i tried to start it up and it turned on fine. when i got home and was letting it cool down (no turbo timer) it died again. when i turn the key to the second click the fuel pump does not turn on, the j&s does not turn on, and the lights in the gauge cluster do not turn on (cel,abs,srs...) like they used to. but my lights do turn on and the car will crank. This morning i put the key in and turn it to the second click and the fuel pump turns on and everything is normal so i i take out the the key and try it again and everything is ok, then i try it a third time and nothing this time. please help, races are tonight

Yikes! Sounds like a major plug on some wiring harness has come loose. I don't know where to point you, but good luck.

Could be your Main relay... They are commonly known to go flaky... sometimes they work... then they crap out ...

I have this problem with my mom's Vigor... it'll do similar things to what you're having... crank and crank... but no fuel ... then let it sit.. and try again and it work... then it'll die... etc.... I've found once it's dead... if i shake the car back and forth it'll usually work the next time... but non-the-less... i think the relay is gone... I talked to my mech. about it and he tells me that's probably my problem... quite common.. even on the Tegs.

Oh... just to clarify... incase u wanna try to give the relay a wack... it's the main relay, just up and under the left side of the steering wheel.... i think they're worth about 60 bux CDN...
